Hi,

Since we upgraded finalbuilder to version 8, and Delphi to version 10 Seattle, we are getting error messages when trying to edit actiom properties in our finalbuilder project. After dismissing the error messages the properties window is shown correctly and works.

Is this caused by finalbuilder missing something or by delphi .pproj files that are changed in Delphi 10 Seattle and cannot be read anymore by Finalbuilder?

Hi Bas,

I think this is caused by FinalBuilder using .net 4 and embarcadero still using .net 3.5 - will look into it, not sure if there is anything we can do. The action will still work, it's just the loading of the targets list that is not working.

Hi Bas,

What build of FB8 are you using? I was getting the same error here on my dev copy, but then I found that my FinalBuilder.MSBuild.Tasks.dll dll was out of date, I used the one from the installed copy and it was working fine. If you are not using the latest build can you try that and see if it makes a difference?

Also, curious why you are using the MSBuild action to build Delphi projects, there is a Delphi action that is much faster than the msbuild action to build projects, and provides a lot more control over the build.

Im using Finalbuilder 8.0.0.1351
Finalbuilder.MSBuild.tasks.dll is dated 29 oct 2015, version 1.0.0.0, size 59.5kB

Using MSBuild in stead of Delphi tasks allows building of Delphi-groupprojects in one Finalbuilder task, and leaves all details configs on the Delphi side. No chance of differnces between the build options in the project file, or the build options used in the Finalbuilder task.

Apologies for talking so long to get back to you on this. We have now figured out what the problem is and are working on a fix.

1) The installer was not gac installing the assembly if you didn't instal the TFS support.

2) When the assembly is gac installed, it doesn't load the available targets because emabarcadero use environment variables in the dproj file to link to their target definitions. That means we need to set the environment vars before loading the assembly (which inspects the project using msbuild), but to do that we need to know what delphi/cbuilder version it is. Not all dproj files have a version, so we'll need to find a way to detect what version of delphi is being used.

Hi Bas,

We just uploaded an update which will fix the assembly load issue. It will still not show the available targets in the list though, because we haven't resolved how to specify the delphi version in the action and do not really want to be putting delphi specific stuff on the msbuild action.
